Ilze obtained a B.Communication Pathology Speech Language Therapy and Audiology degree from the University of Pretoria in 2008. She went on to complete her community service year at the Mpumalanga Department of Health in 2009 and then into private practice in Sandton until 2012.

In 2012 Ilze started her own practice based in Lonehill providing Speech Therapy services in both English and Afrikaans to schools and individuals in and around the Northern suburbs of Johannesburg.
